You’ll be supported every step of the way, by your line manager and mentor. Working with the Digital Applications Manager, lead architects and IT operations, your primary role is to:

• Analyse, test, and recommend improvements.
• You will contribute to the implementation, governance, and support of all Digital applications at Severn Trent Water
• You will also be responsible for analysing and testing new or updated application features
• Diagnosing, and reporting application issues
• Working with the team to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business users
• all while promoting continuous improvement. 

You will rotate within 4 teams during your apprenticeship to develop your skills, all the teams are professional and nurturing environments that are focused on your learning

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• To proactively engage in Customer Service Requests and ensure their resolution within the team.
• To identify and propose solutions to bugs/problems in our application landscape.
• To spot opportunities for application optimisation, redesign, or process improvement.
• To contribute to the production, review, and maintenance of documentation detailing the solution design of relevant applications within the digital team. 
• To assist in balancing competing requirements such as scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks. 
• To participate in the monitoring of Severn Trent’s digital applications/code and contribute to investigations as required. 
• To deliver excellent products and services that our customers and colleagues' value and enables our business to deliver excellent results through the technology we support. 

The training you will be getting

Working with the Digital Applications Manager, lead architects and IT operations team you will complete the Level 4 Applications Support Lead Apprenticeship standard, allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become an expert.  You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training. A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

By the end of this programme, you will take up an Application Services role, where you will be able to put your skills to action.
