Job description

We are currently looking for a Asphalt Plant Operative to join our friendly team based at Melbur asphalt plant near Newquay.

Reporting directly to the Plant Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for operating computer software to mix asphalt to specification, working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries. Learning how to operate mobile plant like wheeled loading shovels, mini diggers and telescopic handlers.
The Asphalt Plant Operative will work with an internal team to learn how to plan the mixing program, ensuring that stocks are maintained and replenished in good time. You will also carry out inspections on the plant and carry out housekeeping tasks and basic daily maintenance.

• The desire for training and willingness to learn and develop both operational and supervisory skills.
• You will have a sound appreciation of Health & Safety, housekeeping and environmental regulations
• Basic mathematics and IT skills are essential.
• Previous experience working with similar industries is desirable.
• Some form of maintenance skills are desirable.
• Ability to work to deadline.
