Currently, we are looking for a
Fleet Workshop Technician , based in Carrington, who will work with a small internal workshop team.
As the Fleet Workshop Technician, You Will - Make sure that planned and unplanned maintenance activities, including respective documents, are completed and executed to standards and schedules
- Work with other workshop locations and third party vendors to ensure that the equipment is maintained and repaired
- Prioritise day to day workload, so maintenance tasks are enacted and vehicle defects are dealt with efficiently to minimise disruptions to fleet operations
- Work on specific fleet-related projects to search for cost effective solutions
- Be part of the on-call team, providing 24/7 breakdown cover and emergency response in relation to automotive and cryogenic defects
- Provide technical support to other fleet maintenance locations
- Work shifts to ensure workshop coverage from 6h00 to 20h00 - Monday to Friday ( Shift start /finish - earlies 6am – 3p, Latest 11am – 8pm)
As the Fleet Technician, You Will - Have the technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy goods vehicles
- Provide evidence of strong technical and practical engineering skills within either electrical or mechanical application
- Possess a good understanding of current ADR, DVSA and FTA regulations & requirements
- Understand commercial aspects of equipment maintenance and have the ability to work to deadlines whilst workmanship is maintained to a high standard
- Desire to develop skills and understanding of cryogenic dispense equipment, including pressure systems, cryogenic liquid pumps, flowmeter systems, cryogenic storage vessels and electrical control systems
- Be able to communicate effectively within a team and demonstrate great team working attitudes
- It would be an advantage if you had previous experience of working on dispense systems approved for the storage and/or carriage of dangerous goods.
- It would be an advantage if you were a holder of a current HGV C and E licence
