Job description

We are currently looking for aSenior Mechanical Engineer for our client, an organisation focused on the design and manufacture of battery packs. The successful candidate will bring core mechanical design expertise to the team.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will:

Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including CAD models, Bills of Materials, drawings and CAD, and technical reports.

Oversee all mechanical testing, including the evaluation of the design validation plan.

Ensure that battery pack designs meet or exceed industry safety standards and regulatory requirements, including crashworthiness, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

Actively participate in technical reviews of product designs, requirements, and specifications.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Proficiency in CAD software (ideally Siemens NX) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools.

Proven experience in designing automotive battery packs.

Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and materials selection.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
