Job description
Following our fabulous £1m refurbishment, we are on the hunt for an Event Manager to join the Team at Cedar Court Hotel, Huddersfield.
The hotel boasts 15 conference rooms, which vary in size and accommodate up to 400 delegates.
We have worked hard to generate a reputation for delivering excellence for large scale conferences, annual general meetings and banqueting events, and we are looking for an experienced Event Manager to ensure that all the details for weddings, conferences and events are finalised to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
The Event Manager will work in close liaison with our Operations and Central Reservations Teams on site, as well as our Regional Sales Managers across Yorkshire.
You will have previous experience in a similar environment, with a positive “can do” attitude and a strong work ethic, as you will be working closely with all operational departments within the hotel to ensure a seamless experience for all our guests.
The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Responsible for selling, managing and ensuring operational delivery of traditional weddings and working with our partners to sell and manage multi-cultural weddings and events
- Ensuring correct rates are quoted, sending proposals, holding space in the event system, contracting the event, along with finalising details.
- Ensuring guests receive the right and relevant information in regards to their event
- Managing and executing the final details of events taking place at the hotel and conference centre to deliver our high standard of services to our customer.
- Carry out Event, Weddings and Conference show rounds with clients to promote the venue space
- Organise and attend wedding open evenings and days at the hotel to showcase function rooms and bedrooms to the couple.
- Organise and conduct client site visits where required and attend walk – in appointments as they happen
- Informing operational departments of individual event requirements and following up to ensure everything runs smoothly
- Meeting and greeting event guests on arrival
- Ensure payments are processed accurately and efficiently
- Be flexible on working hours, to meet the Hotel’s business needs.
- Conduct competitor analysis and be aware of key market trends and products.
- To be digitally savvy and utilise social media channels to promote hotel activities and events.
- Identify any new potential sales leads, share and follow up within the commercial team.
- Be an example to all team members, through performance, consistency, own standards and a positive attitude at all times, promoting the desired work culture within the company.
