Job description

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading not for profit organisation based in Cambridge as they seek to recruit a Finance Officer to join their team. This is a newly created role and within this position, you will report into the Chief Financial Officer. The role is a part time vacancy, for 21 hours per week,and the hours can be spread across either 3, 4 or 5 days. The role also offers flexibility to work from home on some of these days. 


As the incoming Finance Officer you will play a pivotal role within the organisation, and be a key competent in the running of the finance department. You will be tasked with the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Posting of supplier and sales invoices
- Bank reconciliations
- Month end journals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting with forecasting and budgeting
- Assisting the CFO with year end processes and audit


As the successful candidate you will have previous experience working in a similar level accountancy role, with strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. You will also have strong excel knowledge, good communication skills and excellent numerical and analytical skills. Other desirable attributes including being able to prioritise your workload in an efficient and effective manner, be self motivated and be comfortable working to deadlines.
