Job description
As the Warehouse Manager, your role encompasses oversight and optimisation of every aspect of warehouse operations. You will ensure the smooth flow of operations, meticulous management of stock, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Your responsibility revolves around providing dynamic leadership to the warehouse team, orchestrating operational efficiency and service excellence to instil a culture of excellence and motivation to uphold impeccable standards that consistently exceed out customer expectations.
Key responsibilities People: - Lead, coach, and mentor supervisors and warehouse team to achieve high standards and quality output.
- Handle holiday and absence management for direct reports efficiently.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement among teams, implementing innovative ideas for enhanced performance.
- Monitor and analyse team performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct regular meetings with supervisors for clear standards to be established and maintained.
- Review team performance and deploy teams effectively against picking and targets to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Manage headcount for peak periods, ensuring correct staffing levels to meet operational demands and maintain productivity
Warehouse Operations: - Manage all warehouse operations effectively, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Responsible for overseeing vehicle loading and unloading activities, with a strong focus on prioritising safety, maximizing efficiency, and driving continuous process improvement.
- Responsible for order picking and preparation for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Plan and coordinate day-to-day warehouse operations with warehouse supervisors to ensuring smooth functioning.
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations and facilities management.
- Implement and lead continuous improvement ideas with teams.
Service: - Liaise with internal departments to address customer queries promptly and maintain service excellence.
- Oversee all warehouse processes and work with various functions to establish formalized best practices.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure all queries/customer inquiries are resolved within service levels.
- Ensure service standards are maintained, work processes are followed, and are continually monitored for improvement.
Health and Safety: - Adhere to Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment, including leading the Health and Safety Forum and managing ongoing actions/agenda.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to warehouse operations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards within the warehouse environment, implementing appropriate measures to safeguard the warehouse team, property, and stock.
About you - Proven track record of effectively leading and inspiring teams to achieve organisational goals.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and decision-making to ensure operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Meticulous attention to detail to uphold precise control over inventory management and order processing.
- Proficiency in leveraging advanced warehouse management systems (WMS) to optimise stock control and enhance overall management efficiency.
- Extensive experience in managerial roles within warehouse operations, demonstrating leadership and strategic vision.
- Advanced computer literacy, with adeptness in utilising relevant software applications to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
- Possession of advanced certifications or extensive experience in health and safety management, such as IOSH or equivalent, preferred.
