HR Manager
Part-time, 3days a week (Days can be chosen by the candidate)
Up to £45,000 FTE
Contract until July 2024

Pure are delighted to be recruiting a HR Manager to join a local educational Trust. The HR Manager’s primary role will be responsible for Trust HR Policies, casework management and will provide HR support and advice to the HR and payroll team as required across our Suffolk settings.
Job overview:
The HR Manager will be responsible to the HR Director for the implementation of Trust HR Policies, casework management and will provide HR support and advice to the HR and payroll team as required. The HR Manager will assist in the planning, development and implementation of HR policies and strategy, in accordance with Trust priorities in order to improve the overall effectiveness of the Trust’s management of staff.
The post holder will have access to and be responsible for confidential information and documentation. They must ensure confidential or sensitive material is handled appropriately and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process HR casework accordance with Trust Policies and Employment Law including restructuring, absence management, grievances, disciplinaries and capability;
- Provide a support, advice and guidance to other areas of the HR team as required and as directed by the HR Director;
- Advise the HR Director, COO, CEO and Trust senior management team, developing and implementing HR policies in all areas including:
- Casework
- Employee Relations
- Pay, grading and reward
- Equality and diversity
- Performance management
- Training and development
- Recruitment and retention
- Workforce planning
- Support the HR Director in promoting a culture that supports Trust strategic priorities and provides a service delivery/enabling environment through:
- developing and initiating evidence based policy in an accessible, user friendly, fit for purpose style;
- identification, development and application of e-HR solutions and process improvements;
- provision of expert advice, guidance and support on a range of specialisms.
- Research new topics and legislation and advise on implications for the Trust;
- Make recommendations and initiate and deliver training as required;
- Oversee the development of system and procedures including working closely with the Systems Development Manager/Director of Operations in data centres and producing HR Analytics and Metrics.
- Provide reports to senior staff and make recommendations for business continuity.
- Liaise with external service providers e.g. Employment Law specialists to support Trust HR activity;
- Attend meetings of the Trust Senior Management Team as required;
- Be member of the Trust Joint Consultative Committee and take part in Trust negotiations;
- The post-holder shall participate in the Trust’s programme of Performance Management and Continuing Professional Development;
- Be able to manage at both strategic and operational levels;
What you will need:- A degree (preferred) or equivalent level of knowledge and understanding gained by experience as a Human Resources professional (essential)
- CIPD level 5 (essential)
- Post graduate qualification in human resources or employment law (desirable)
- Demonstratable knowledge and application of employment procedure, practice and law in managing complex cases (essential);
- A detailed understanding of HR functions, practice and procedure in a modern HR environment;
- A detailed understanding of HR MIS and payroll (essential);
- Detailed knowledge of HR Performance Metrics and Analytics (desirable);
- Be proficient in HR audit and compliance (essential);
- Experience of devising and implementing management of change or other HR commissioned projects (essential);
- An interest in working in an educational environment, with an interest in compliance and quality assurance (essential);
- Display a high level of personal drive and energy and show a capacity for sustained effort and performance (essential);
- Be adaptable, receptive to new ideas, and willing and able to adjust to new demands and circumstances (essential)
- The capacity to inspire trust and confidence in Trustees, senior staff and colleagues in all sectors of the Trust workforce (essential).
- Experience of leading and managing a small team.
