Fully Remote Working – Within UK

Salary £40k-£50k

As we continue to evolve we are seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission of safeguarding digital assets and protecting our clients’ data

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and networks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity measures, proactively identify and mitigate security risks, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner. The ideal person will have exceptional communication skills and have a strong technical background in the field of Cyber and Information Security as well as Information Technology. The candidate must also possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

The Cyber Security Engineer will be tasked to implement the Lifeways Cyber Security Strategy and provide support to the Information Security function including

• Design and or identify the tools and solutions we need to protect our data
• Implement, and maintain security controls and measures to protect systems, networks, and data assets
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security risks
• Monitor security events and alerts, investigate security incidents, and respond to incidents according to established procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate security best practices into software development processes and infrastructure deployments
• Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry best practices, and recommend proactive measures to enhance security posture
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on cybersecurity-related matters, including security awareness training and incident response planning

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering or a similar engineering role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, encryption, and authentication mechanisms
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and tool development
• Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM

Desirable

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Security
• MS Azure Security Engineer AZ-500 an advantage
• MS M365 Security Administrator MS-500 an advantage
