Job description
What you will do in your working day
You will be expected to:
- Continue to develop through reviews with your coach and mentor
- Assist the Quantity Surveyor in managing subcontractors, materials and goods
- Assist in the accurate costing and cost control for each aspect of site development
- Assist with the compilation of all departmental reports and attend meetings as required
- Provide administrative support for the team whilst maintaining relevant filing and database systems
The training you will be getting
- Over the course of the 5 years, you'll achieve an industry accredited Cert HE and BSc (Hons) Degree in Professional Practice in Residential Development and Quantity Surveying
- You’ll join as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor within your chosen location, giving you hands-on experience from day one
- Each year you will complete four 1-week teaching blocks at Sheffield Hallam University through a combination of classroom and online teaching
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Over the course of the 5 years, you'll achieve an industry accredited Cert HE and BSc (Hons) Degree in Professional Practice in Residential Development and Quantity Surveying and have usually been promoted to Assistant Quantity Surveyor during the course of the Apprenticeship.
Typically apprentices have then gone on to become a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor / Chief Surveyor.
