The Opportunity

Due to internal promotions we have an exciting opportunity for a Regional General Manager to lead our Readymix business in the North. With full P&L responsibility and leadership of the General Managers that will report directly into you and commercial and operational staff across the area that will be indirect reports.

You’re a motivational leader who will build and manage close relationships with key customers and plant personnel, you have strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering year on year growth and improvement in your respective field. You also have strong experience in managing substantial budgets and financial controls and are able to evidence your commitment to building and maintaining leading health and safety standards.

Who you are

• You will manage the Northern Readymix division to deliver as a minimum the budgeted income/contribution levels through managed volume, price and cost control
• You will successfully manage the sales team while maintaining and improving the business relationships and market knowledge, within the designated area
• You will take responsibility of strategic account management and assist in the negotiation of major contracts and ensure the Sales Team are actively promoting the full product range within the region where appropriate
• You will successfully manage the operational team, ensuring company standards are met and costs are maintained to within agreed budgets
• You will have excellent leadership skills and the natural ability to build a high performing culture within your teams
• You will ensure manufacturing efficiency measures (OEE, REE, Lean) are implemented and embedded in operations and maintain relations with key strategic suppliers and ensure optimum purchasing agreements in place
• You will ensure through best practice and innovation that costs are minimised and that resources are managed in line with outputs and expected sales demand
• You will be confident in identifying and recommending opportunities for business development through both organic growth and acquisition
• You strive to maintain a high degree of market and competitor awareness
• You will work hard to raise the profile of AI within the North region
• You will drive decarbonisation within your business area
• You will be responsible for collating business cases for capital investment in new plants, upgrades to existing plants and equipment
