Description
We are currently seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to join our team as an Admin Scale 6 - Bereavement Services Officer (Sc6). In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals and families during their time of loss and grief. This is a vital position within our organization, as it involves providing essential services to individuals during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

The Bereavement Services Officer will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating bereavement services, including counseling sessions, support groups, and memorial events. Additionally, they will provide administrative support to the bereavement team, managing documentation, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational abilities. They must also possess a high level of empathy and sensitivity, as they will be working closely with individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and facilitate bereavement services, including counseling sessions, support groups, and memorial events
Provide administrative support to the bereavement team, managing documentation, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and privacy
Respond to inquiries and provide information to individuals seeking bereavement services
Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating empathy, and providing emotional support
Collaborate with community partners and organizations to provide comprehensive bereavement services
Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in bereavement services
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
Proven experience working in a bereavement or grief support role
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with individuals who are grieving
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for off-site work as required
Knowledge of local community resources for bereavement support is preferred

Hours Per Hour: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £19.05
Location: Islington, North London
