Job description

Our Finance department are looking for someone who is able to undertake accountancy duties for, and provide professional advice and support to, Governors, Head teachers, Business Managers and Bursars at schools who have delegated budgets in accordance with the Local Management of Schools Scheme.

You will be required to provide high quality, financial management advice and practical support to Head teachers, Governors, Business Managers and Bursars as required, this includes proactively identify innovative and pragmatic solutions to problems presented by schools which allow the “customer’s” requirements to be met whilst simultaneously ensuring that financial regulations and statutory requirements are followed, compliant and adhered to.

About you
We are looking for someone who has strong communication skills with ability to build strong key relationships being able to give clear and effective professional guidance and a consultative financial advice on complex financial issues at a senior level and to non-accountants applying assertiveness.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop on your existing skills by working on own initiative, working with minimal management direction as well as a part of a team and to adjust work roles and arrangements to suit service demands.

We do ask that you have an AAT qualification or a Level 4 in accounting or equivalent qualification or experience, including an in depth knowledge of accountancy principles and practice.

Applicants for this role will need to be able to visit establishments and attend meetings anywhere in the Borough on a regular up to daily basis as well as have accurate numerical reasoning skills with a pragmatic approach.
