Job description
The Associate will support the research team by undertaking research and development to develop a new product or service, attending and leading project meetings as required.
You will handle data collection and analysis and contribute on the design and organisation of the project as well as work with academic team members on peer reviewed papers and presentations. You will be expected to disseminate the results and outputs of the project and ensure the collating and writing of final project are of a high standard.
You will take an active part in the academic life of the School through participation in seminars and other similar events.
To undertake research and development to support a project to design and optimise the next generation of chip-removal cutting tools. The research involves simulation of the cutting conditions and estimation of the forces and friction generated during the cutting process when using the cutting tool.
The validation of the results and product performance analysis are an important part of this research hence intensive hands-on product testing will be required. The obtained data will be used to create an optimised tooth geometry.
