  1. The post holder will provide expert clinical advice, supervision and support to
    the health visiting skill mix team around specific Public health matters (including
    Domestic Violence, Infant feeding, Accident prevention, Safeguarding and
    Extended services link).
  2. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of expert high quality family
    centred Primary Health Service to a defined population including those within the
    Early help neighbourhood and Children’s Centres boundaries within the London
    Borough of Newham.
    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to work with teams effectively to ensure change is implemented and maintained, and have the ability to work through barriers to change within the teams

Significant experience of working as a health visitor in a team and in managing staff of over 2 years or more

Significant experience of direct management and supervision of qualified and unqualified staff.
Experience of working with Safeguarding issues

Experience of working with children with additional / complex needs

Experience of identifying the development needs of others and giving effective feedback.

Experience of multi-agency working and working across organisational boundaries

Demonstration of evaluation, audit and research skills in practice

Experience as a clinical supervisor/
Credible clinical background, demonstrating excellent clinical decision making skills
Good interpersonal skills including the ability to establish professional credibility with a wide range of professionals.

Networking and developing partnership skills, locally and nationally

Ability to manage staff, conflict and difficult situations and to challenge and support others appropriately and assertively.

Ability to design, record, implement and monitor specific action plans in partnership with child, family/ client, demonstrating sound decision making skills which includes the voice of the child .

Ability to take full responsibility for delegation on rotation within and across teams .

Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

Good organisational and time management skills.

Evidence of effective team working

Sound knowledge of the regulatory framework for Public Health Nursing services

Ability to build and sustain positive and effective working relationships / partnerships
