Head of Financial Services – AP/AR & Payroll
Based on site in Norwich
35 per hour
8 weeks contract
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager with advanced specialist knowledge and expertise in the economic, financial, and organisational complexities of the NHS. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with national policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury Management functions.
– Serve as the main finance contact for contract management of Payroll services.
– Assist in identifying, developing, and planning strategies and programs aligned with national policies to enhance service delivery and financial performance.
– Provide guidance and management for comprehensive financial management and accounting services across all Trust operations.
– Contribute to the development and implementation of Trust financial policies and ensure compliance.
– Manage the production of the Trust's annual accounts and financial reports, including liaising with external auditors.
– Collaborate with Internal Audit providers to manage reports and implement recommendations.
– Attend Trust meetings to present financial information and advise staff on financial matters.
– Develop and implement Trust–wide financial policies and procedures.
– Represent Finance on Trust policy groups, work stream teams, and sub–committees.
– Lead planning, performance management, training, and development of the finance team.
Requirements:
– Advanced specialist knowledge of economic, financial, and organisational complexities of the NHS, including current national policies and change programmes.
– Expertise in information analysis and performance review.
– Ability to manage highly complex, sensitive, and contentious internal and external communications.
– Significant experience in a financial management role.
– Knowledge and experience of working with VAT and other taxation rules and regulations.
