Morrison Water Services part of the M Group Services Water Division are the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK. Morrison Water Services is recruiting for General Operatives to work on our Caledonia Water Alliance contract in the East Coast of Scotland. Due to ongoing growth within this 6 year framework, we are growing our Site Delivery teams.
Caledonia Water (CWA) is a joint venture alliance between Aecom and Morrison Water Services (MWS), supporting the delivery of Scottish water’s SR21 Capital Investment Programme. We are responsible for the delivery of a pan Scotland £700M water and wastewater infrastructure programme over a 6-year alliance framework.
As a General Operative, you will play an important part in our Site Delivery Team who are responsible for the construction, testing and commissioning of several large projects.
As a General Operative your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Excavating trenches, placing pipe bedding material, laying, and jointing pipes, backfilling and compacting trenches, mix and lay concrete, operate machinery, using equipment such as drills and pumps and move and unload materials
- Duties may also include fencing work, earthworks, construction of pipeline chambers and assisting skilled workers, for example joiners or bricklayers
- Working under the instruction and supervision of Gangers, Foremen and General Foreman
- Operating various site plant that you have been trained on and other construction site vehicles as well as acting as a Banksman
- Keeping the site tidy and looking after tools and equipment
- Providing assistance to the site team which may include a number of varied tasks
- At all times to be working in a safe manner with consideration towards fellow workers and members of the public who may come into contact with our work
- Experience in working on both wastewater and clean water is important
- Roads and Street works training and experience required
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Do you have previous experience in a Civil Construction environment?
You will require to have experience and a sound knowledge of cross-country pipeline construction
NRSWA operative
If you have Water SHEA & National Water Hygiene qualifications this is ideal but not essential
Do you have a good understanding of Health & Safety?
A Full driving licence is required, and willingness to travel
