Job description

Provide advice and triage cases needing to be seen, consider patients forensic and therapeutic needs, recognise and refer to specialist services if acutely unwell, participate in strategy meetings for the service and consider safeguarding in all cases. Document accurately remote assessments and advice. Carry out holistic assessment including remote advice with the consent of that individual. Potentially using multi agency determination, assess where an individual lacks capacity (or is not Gillick competent) if an assessment can be conducted in that persons best interests or with Parental Responsibility. Assessments can be taken with consideration of an appropriate examination strategy for non-recent cases, explanation of the choices related to self-referrals and identification of a management plan. Carry out forensic examinations with the consent of that individual. Forensic examinations are undertaken, with consideration of an appropriate forensic strategy, exhibits taken with robust chain of evidence, camera systems and management of images according to national guidance, with documentation of injuries on body maps recommending photography or undertaking photography following local protocols. Ensure that forensic standards are followed, including consideration of the room cleanliness, cross contamination, and PPE requirements. Ensure all forensic modules and equipment are in date. Ensure that stock levels are between required minimum and maximum, ordering where necessary. Perform checks on medicines and equipment including the grab bag, making sure they are fit for purpose. Participate and chair case review, ensuring referrals are undertaken. Take responsibility for records management for camera systems deleting and checking images. Proactively engage in the PAIERs and SI process: Raise PAIERs; review local PAIERs tracker; carry out any actions associated with each PAIER and feed back to the individual or manager. Mentor Preceptor FNEs/SARC HCPs, new starters, Crisis Workers, Administrators and Doctors. Take pride and personal responsibility in continuous professional development.
