As Strategic Sourcing Buyer you'll report directly into the Managing Director. The role will suit an experienced Purchasing / Procurement professional who has working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain within a UK retailer, foodservice, or FMCG organisation. This business places its people, their development, and their success at the forefront of everything that they do. As Strategic Sourcing Buyer you'll ensure that the business is supplying the right products and services, at the right price, whilst supporting the wider strategic priorities around Net Zero, Social Value, and beyond. This is a critical role within the business that enables and supports delivery of the strategic sourcing activity. You'll work extensively alongside the Category, Account teams, and the wider business to deliver commercial KPI's and to work on strategic projects that have wider impact across the organisation. You'll identify market trends and insight around Best in Class procurement and apply learnings to approach, process, and procedures to keep the business ahead of their competition. This role also supports the business aspirations to push boundaries of how the business approach sourcing, the tools they use, focus on driving improvements whilst coaching and developing Buyers. You'll be a strong negotiator, exceptional communicator, and influencer at all levels with good commercial acumen. You'll be comfortable working under pressurised timelines and deadlines and have proven ability to reduce cost with category management knowledge. You'll be capable of delivering strategic procurement which extends beyond tactical tenders, a confident presenter with advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
