The Trainer Assessor will be occupationally competent and suitably qualified, they will be part of a team who is responsible for the delivery of our apprenticeship standards. The post holder will participate in the planning and delivery of a range of programmes within their area of expertise and this will include short courses, full qualifications and apprenticeships. They will be a key point of contact within the W2W team, offering support and guidance to ensure their apprenticeship programme is successful and employer needs are met.
Key duties and responsibilities – responsible for
- Planning and designing learning content across a variety different method and platforms for AfC that meet Apprenticeship standards and related external body requirements
- Delivering consistently good training and assessment within the curriculum through an effective variety of teaching and learning activities.
- Actively involved and supporting the recruitment and induction of learners, meeting individual needs, accessing support where needed.
- Carrying out practical assessments, providing the relevant paperwork and record keeping in compliance with the awarding body requirements.
- Coordinating all elements of apprenticeship Standards to achieve timely success.
- Ensuring high standards of Health & Safety at all times in accordance with regulations and AfC Policy, notifying the line manager or appropriate manager of any risks.
- Complying with agreed learner retention, attendance and success measures in line with key performance expectations.
- Supporting evaluation of current provision to inform future apprenticeship provision.
- Providing an excellent customer experience to both the internal and external workforce
- Attending meetings within AfC and external events as required.
The post holder will be expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade of the post, including deputising or working flexibly across the week and locations to meet the business demands.

Education and training
⦁ Level 3 A1/CAVA/TAQA Award (Essential)
⦁ Certificate in Education & Training or equivalent (Essential)
⦁ Level 4 IQA/V1 (Desirable), Information Advice & Guidance – Level 4 (Desirable)
Skills and experience
⦁ Proven experience delivering and assessing apprenticeship standards including one or more of the following Early years and Child Care.
⦁ The ability to develop and enhance programme content and delivery methods that meet the requirements of the apprenticeship standard and awarding body requirements.
⦁ A general understanding of Apprenticeship funding rules, requirements and compliance.
⦁ Experience with Ofsted inspections of Further Education & Skills.
⦁ Able to evidence Continuous Professional Development.
⦁ An excellent knowledge of British Values, Prevent, Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding.
⦁ Experience managing a large caseload of apprentices, assessing and training cohorts of learners simultaneously
⦁ Able to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a shared outcome
⦁ Able to navigate and effectively utilise the e-portfolio system (OneFile) or have experience of similar e-portfolio systems.
⦁ The experience to know when and how to make interventions to ensure learner progress is successful and sustainable.
⦁ High ethical and professional standards with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external clients.
⦁ Experience of addressing specific equality or diversity issues within your practice with colleagues/customers and taking action to resolve them.

Please note this role is 14 hours a week and 2 days per week ( the days are flexible)
