Job description
This position is accountable for blending welded and machined parts to an acceptable functional profile and to relevant quality documents / drawings, and to a high visual / cosmetic standard.
Job Responsibilities
- Blending of inlay materials, raised welds, erosion and other surface imperfections on Steam Turbine or Gas Compressor blades, either as loose individual items or as part of a fixed rotating assembly;
- Follows all work routings / procedures and complete quality documentation and as required;
- General workshop maintenance and daily housekeeping;
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned to aid overall workshop function and flow of jobs through workshop.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Ability to use specified fixed linishing tools, or hand tools to achieve desired results;
- Be familiar with, and work to relevant manual handling / lifting procedures
- Work from written or verbal work instructions;
- Commitment to Quality documents and the updating of work packs;
- Ability to use basic measuring & inspection equipment;
- Ability to work under minimum supervision;
- Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail
- NDT experience preferred but not essential
- Forklift driver training preferred but not essential
