Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various timber processing machinery such as CNC, Framing Machines, saws, planers and routers ensuring efficient and accurate production.
- Set up machines according to product specifications including adjusting cutting blades, feed rates and other parameters.
- Monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions or deviations from standards and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections of machines to ensure proper functioning, cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating and replacing worn-out parts to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Inspect finished timber products for quality including dimensions, smoothness and accuracy then make adjustments as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Report any issues, concerns or improvements related to machinery, processes or safety to the supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator or Production would be beneficial.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work within specified tolerances.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy timber materials.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of relevant safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Punctuality and reliability to meet production deadlines.
- Methodical approach when problem solving.
- Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Good time management.
Desirable Skills
- Can use a computer.
- Can multitask.

Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
Salary: 16/17yrs £5.28, 18/20yrs £7.49, 21/22yrs £10.18, 23/24yrs £10.42 per hour
