Job Description
The key responsibilities for the Management Accountant role are:
- Prepare monthly management reports and submissions
- Work with Commercial Finance and budget holders to prepare monthly accruals and prepayment schedules
- Prepare and post month-end and year-end journals
- Manage capital expenditure
- Provide critical support to Financial Controller regarding Supply Chain Finance reporting including interrogation of COGs variances
- Work with production team to provide stock holding reporting and forecasting
- Provide month-end and maintenance support to the wider team
- Assist Financial Controller with providing documentation for review by external auditors
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain employee credit cards and ensure transactions are coded in a timely manner
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be a key member of the supporting cast. The team work very closely and so the role demands someone with a positive attitude and ability to work cross-functionally. We need someone who is superbly organised, methodical, and who will always exhibit the highest level of honesty and integrity in handling sensitive information.
The following skills are required:
- Experience with management accounts within SMEs
- Pursuing accounting designation, preferably partially qualified
- Proficiency with Excel
- Ability and confidence to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time-management skills; able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise workload
- Solutions-focused mindset; able to identify potential efficiencies and suggest improvements for best practice
- Plate-spinning brilliance
Experience of working with Sage and Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, are considered desirable.
