Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH)? Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a SEMH Learning Support Assistant for an Alternative Provision in vibrant West Leeds.

About the Role: As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students with SEMH needs. This is a full-time position with the potential for permanency after a successful probationary period. Your daily hours will be from 08:30 am to 15:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individualized support plans.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and academic progress.
• Manage behavior and de-escalate challenging situations effectively.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs or relevant experience is preferred.
• Training is available for individuals with little experience, so enthusiasm and willingness to learn are highly valued.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply for one upon registration.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Able to provide at least 2 references from previous employers.
