HWRC Site Operative

Hourly Rate- £10.68 per hour (plus overtime and benefits)

Hours – 40 hours per week (start / finish depending on shift pattern to be advised)

Postcode of depot – CT20 3UJ

As an HWRC Site Operative, we will train you to deliver a high standard of customer service to the public by actively encouraging reuse and recycling as well as assisting the public with their waste disposal. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working six days on, three days off.

What will you be doing?

- Assisting members of public with the disposal of their waste
- Presenting a positive image and giving a friendly welcome to all users
- Adhering to the council requirements for van users and other rules
- Sorting and moving waste streams deposited by members of the public into the appropriate location
- Escorting members of the public to the asbestos containers
- Complying with the site license and FCC Environment health and safety procedures
- Ensuring good housekeeping within the site is maintained
- Litter picking
- Monitoring levels of waste
- Liaising with Team Leaders and Site Supervisors to arrange collections
- Maintaining site infrastructure – e.g., washing signs, containers and cleaning drains
