Job Title: Technical Copywriter
Location: Bristol or Edinburgh, Hybrid, 2+ Days per week in the office
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Technical Copywriter
We are now hiring a Technical Copywriter to join our growing team. In this newly created role, you will need to have a passion for innovation and possess the ability to simplify technical, complex information into clear benefit-led copy.
Reporting to our Head of Marketing you will easily craft engaging content that interests a variety of user groups, from overall brand perception to project updates and new product releases. If you are an expert at writing easy-to-understand text to engage and inform an audience with a wide range of technical knowledge; from none to a lot. We’ll welcome your ideas & input and support your development. In addition, this is an incredible opportunity to help further the transition to renewable energy.
Objectives & Responsibilities:
We work in an exciting and dynamic environment meaning the following are likely to change as we grow. However, upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include:
- Partner with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of our products, services and marketing/documentation requirements.
- Producing high-quality, easy-to-digest and engaging documents, narratives and copy that is appropriate for its intended audience across a number of sectors (including renewable energy, maritime security and oil & gas decommissioning).
- Support the creation of online content such as blogs, white papers and social media posts.
- Write engaging case studies, project updates, video content for infographics, and support with podcast scripting, video and animation scripting.
- Assist with tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
Writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides. - Analyse existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

- Demonstrated experience in technical writing of software, hardware and service products.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality documentation, paying attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily digestible.
- Able to craft compelling and engaging copy on complex and technical subjects.
- Ability to recognise and understand the needs, motivations and requirements of the end audience.
- Excellent written and communication skills.

- CRO Conversation: Meet with our CRO (Chief Revenue Officer) for a 30-minute discussion. This is your opportunity to express your thoughts on the role and ask any final questions. We'll clarify expectations and ensure this role aligns with your aspirations.
