An opportunity has arisen for an Account Manager – Heavy Industry to join the Commercial department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. The purpose of the role includes managing Fortescue WAE & Customer commercial relationship, ensuring that voice of customer is heard within Fortescue WAE internal teams. Being a focussed single point of contact between the customer and Fortescue WAE delivery and support teams to ensure projects are commercially successful and managed effectively to or under budget.
Job role: - Commercially supporting Programme delivery team to maximise profit within a range of projects across the portfolio
- Adding added value to projects through scope change including initial approaches, understanding and capturing customer requirements, preparing and presenting proposals/change requests (PVR’s), negotiating contracts, and maintaining customer relationships throughout delivery.
- Ability to produce proposals and invoicing, sometimes working as part of a team and sometimes independently.
- Identifying scope change and Project Variation Requests (PVR’s) and commercially engaging with customers to negotiate and agree
- Collaborating with Programme team to analyse Earned value management and project costing/accounting
- Producing detailed reports and presenting recommendations to management and other stakeholders
- Liaising with Finance business partners to track performance of portfolio against company budgets, determining trends or changes in the data and producing accurate forecasts
- Developing relationships with new clients; managing relationships with current or previous clients and expanding existing relationships to drive increased revenue.
- Be responsible for customer order management and reporting of order book within Account Management and Commercial Team.

- Represent the Fortescue WAE
- Attend annual Performance Management and Review Meetings and agree annual objectives and a Personal Development Plan (PDP)
- Ensure confidentiality is always maintained, in all aspects of this position
- Delegation of tasks to commercial operations or sales administration function
You’ll have: - Experience in a commercial, account management or business development role within Engineering, Automotive, Off High Way or Energy Sectors
- Research, analytic, numeracy and computer skills (including relevant software proficiency)
- Excellence in communication to all stakeholders – external and internal
- Project management and organisational and time management skills
- Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management and Engineering teams
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience and success of commercial contract negotiation
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of project and product costing and earned valued management
- Ability to distinguish between reliable and unreliable data with excellent attention to detail
- Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management and Engineering teams
