What you will do in your working day
Your duties will include:
- Following instructions on the safe use of machinery and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean working surrounding.
- Learning the use of various measuring equipment.
- Reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Production and finishing of parts.
- Use of hand tools for finishing.
The training you will be getting
- Apprentices will attend college for two days per week for two years.Training, assessments and observations will also be completed in the workplace. This can be supported by some remote delivery if required.
- Apprentices will work towards the Engineering technician Standard under the Product Design and Development Technician pathway.
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Product Design and Development
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
