• The Head of Commercial Vehicles is responsible for the development and delivery of the commercial vehicles business in the UK and Ireland including the development of new business and sales growth and the delivery of the aftermarket sales strategy ensuring the ongoing development, growth and sustainability of our CV business.
• Reporting to the Vice President of Sales EMEA with a dotted line into the Managing Director of VTGB, the postholder will have direct responsibility for the sales and support and service teams who drive the parts and service sales primarily to the bus sector within our commercial vehicles business.
• Develop and maintain relationships with OEM's and bus operators to develop all potential opportunities and pursue where applicable non Voith opportunities.
• Develop and prepare quotations on major projects. Liaise with and support GKAM team in Germany and develop strong working and strategic relationship with the major OEM's.
• Overall responsibility for managing sales, achieving growth and exceeding sales targets. Maintain UK sales volumes by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand. Identify emerging opportunities and state of competition.
• Lead inspire and motivate your direct reports in their roles, encouraging innovation and creativity with the workplace.
• Identify and respond to all opportunities in a timely and efficient manner.
• To perform any other duties as required.
It is preferable that applicants should have proven strong technical and commercial experience / knowledge of the commercial vehicle sector in the UK and Ireland ideally with a particular focus on the bus market.
Have at least 5 years commercial experience working in a manufacturing, sales role as a mid to senior manager. Possesses strong technical, first-class communication skills and proven negotiation skills and has experience of CRM. A degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering or business-related subject or equivalent is desirable. Are able to demonstrate the ability to work to high levels of accuracy within very strict deadlines, is an inspirational and visible leader who has the ability to lead and motivate their team's and is able to work on their own initiative.
Whilst this role is home based the successful candidate will be required to travel to our offices in Croydon as well as to our customers throughout the UK & Ireland. All applicants will need to have the eligibility to live and work within the UK.
