Job description
Function
The function of the Warehouse Administrator and Material Handler is to play a strong team part in helping the Purchasing and Logistics Department effectively and efficiently fulfil its function as a key service provider to all of the UK Bruker companies.
Objectives
Material Handler
- to deliver optimum service with respect to the physical movement of goods into and out of the Company, and their storage
Warehouse Administrator
- to ensure that goods receiving, shipping and purchase order documentation and stores control procedures and record-keeping are completed to a high order of accuracy and timeliness.
Each of these objectives requires individual effort and team playing, and active communication and co-operation with team colleagues and with colleagues in other departments to bring about continual improvement in working procedures and methods leading to optimum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Duties
Job duties, comprising both manual goods handling and dealing with documentation associated with goods movement, purchasing and stores will include the following tasks specific to the objectives:
Material Handler
- receiving goods onto the premises, forwarding onward for internal distribution
- collation and packaging of goods for shipment
- loading and unloading, including operation of a motorised forklift
- distribution of stores materials and parts
- assistance with and co-operation in general movement of plant and equipment when necessary
- providing assistance to colleagues throughout the Company with loading and unloading operations
- preparation of spares and repaired goods for despatch to support engineers in the field and overseas
- general housekeeping and upkeep of internal and exterior dispatch areas
Warehouse Administrator
- processing of delivery documentation
- preparing shipping documentation and liaison with shipping agents
- assist with Import and Export procedures and documentation accordingly
- maintenance of a parts & consumables stores including recording of receipts and issues
- maintenance of stock control system and progressing of stock orders
- general procurement and order processing documentation
- assisting colleagues with advice and information on goods receiving and delivery matters
- communication with external suppliers regarding deliveries
- record keeping.
Other Duties
- occasional duties to assist other areas of the organisation.
The Department structure is based on a 3 person team with both complementary, shared and overlapping duties, to provide continuity of service at all times, including holiday cover where required.
Reporting
The position reports to The P&L Department Manager, who will agree expectations and allocate resources.
Location
The position is based at our Coventry office. Residence within a reasonable commuting distance of the Coventry office is a condition of employment.

Qualifications
- a current valid counterbalance fork lift truck license
- a current valid driving license
Skills and Experience
- manual dexterity
- accurate, literate and articulate, with good communications skills in English, written and spoken
- understanding of the packaging methods required to avoid transit damage for a wide range of delicate electronic goods
- understanding of the documentation types used in a materials handling and stores department
- A good understanding of computer literacy skills in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, with an ability and readiness to gain additional competence in computer-based tasks.
- Knowledge of current import and export rules and regulations
- A good understanding of SAP (company ERP software)
Hours
This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. Reasonable flexibility, especially of the finishing time, is expected to meet deadlines or other business priorities. You will be entitled to a 30-minute lunch break.
