Summary – basic function of the role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Graphic Designer to lead our design team. This role is ideal for a visionary individual with a strong background in graphic design, exceptional leadership abilities, and a passion for crafting visually stunning and effective designs. The Senior Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand's visual identity, leading other designers, and driving design projects from concept to completion.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Graphic Design Expertise:

• Lead and mentor internal and external graphic designers/agencies, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality design output.
• Develop and oversee the execution of innovative design strategies that effectively communicate the brand's message and values.
• Collaborate closely with the marketing teams to create cohesive, consistent and impactful visual materials.
• Manage the design process for a wide range of projects, including branding, advertising campaigns, digital assets, print materials, photo and video.
• Ensure all design projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
• Stay abreast of the latest design trends and technologies, integrating new and creative approaches to design work.
• Lead by example, creating exceptional designs that inspire the team and elevate the brand.
• Effective planning using our project management software (Trello) and ensure content is up to date.

Project Management:

• Manage a variety of design and marketing projects from conception to completion, ensuring they align with the overall marketing strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project tasks and facilitate effective communication.
• Manage timelines, schedules, and workflows to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Oversee the production of designs across departments, ensuring they meet quality standards and are consistent with brand guidelines.
• Assist in problem-solving and resolution of project issues, escalating when necessary.  

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in graphic design across a variety of mediums.
• Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
• Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding design work.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, receiving and providing feedback constructively.

Physical Demands

Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. Position may require travel up to 10% of the time to support multiple global and regional facilities. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.

Work Environment

Primary work environment is temperature controlled office setting but may also be visiting different facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required.
