The Senior Management Accountant will be responsible for the support and supervising of the finance team. Be an effective, confident leader able to demonstrate people management skills to support and mentor where required.
Ensure the financial integrity of the transactions in SAP Business One and Fidelo.
Support and assist team member of the department so that month end deadlines, and statutory reporting requirements are met.
The working hours for this role open a standard 37.5 hours with additional hours where required by the business.
1. Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure transactional finance operations (Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Payroll and Treasury Management) are operating efficiently and effectively
- Assist in developing the finance team, guide, and mentor direct reports. Provide training, feedback, and on-the-job mentoring.
- Ensuring that the finance team has documented processes and procedures.
- Lead month-end sub-ledger close process, including AP, AR, Treasury and Payroll ensuring that all associated Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
- Preparation of operational cashflows and oversee liquidity management.
- Manage banking mandates and corporate credit card facilities.
- Ensuring good housekeeping of all finance functions making sure all system notes and procedures are reviewed and updated as required.
- Assist in making sure that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis
- Assist on the production of Annual Statutory Accounts and Notes to the Accounts.
- Assist with the commentary and insight to support the Finance Director in preparation of Board papers monthly.
- Assist with all Direct and Indirect tax computations, returns and compliance (including payroll related taxes).
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process as required.
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and ensuring depreciation charged is in line with company policy. Conducting impairment reviews as required.
- Ensuring that dilapidation provisions are performed and accounted for.
- Preparation of schedules to support corporation tax computations and returns.
- Completion of Government statistical reporting.
- Ensure that Statutory Books are maintained and are always up to date, ensuring that any changes are notified to Companies House using the appropriate forms.
- Escalation of the period end close, making use of technology and reporting tools.
- Ensuring that the finance team has documented processes and procedures.
- Supporting the development of a single chart of accounts and the implementation of a BI tool to enable deliver multi-dimensional reporting.
- Development of a suite of KPI’s & reports to enable decision making.
- Managing a range of internal and external relationships, including auditors, HMRC, legal advisors, government departments and system support partners.
- Help with the documentation and integration of Fidelo into SAP
- Any other reasonable duties associated with the role
2. Internal Communications
- Provide support to all teams across BSC as required, keeping the teams regularly updated on pertinent information
- Maintain a sufficient product knowledge of BSC’s portfolio of products in order to best understand how the role supports the needs of the Commercial and Operational Teams
Job Skills
Specific Role Requirements
- Be studying for a recognised accounting qualification ACCA/CIMA
- Minimum of 2 years prior experiences
