Job description

SEN Specialist for Primary School

Are you passionate about providing dedicated support to children with special educational needs (SEN), including those with ADHD, autism, and behavioral challenges? Join a team at Primary School as an SEN Specialist and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored SEN support to students, including 1:1 support for those with SEN, ADHD, autism, and behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of each SEN student.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create inclusive learning environments that accommodate SEN students' needs.
  • Utilize a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage SEN students and foster their academic and social development.
  • Monitor SEN student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly to ensure their success.
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive classroom culture that values diversity and promotes empathy and understanding towards SEN students.
Requirements:
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant qualifications in special education.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ADHD, autism, and behavioral challenges.
  • Sound knowledge of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support SEN students effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting SEN students' diverse needs.
