Senior Clinician - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

3 month contract

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinician, providing specialised mental health services to children, young people, and their families. As a Senior Clinician in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), you will play a crucial role in the assessment, formulation, and treatment of a diverse caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilise assessment, formulation, and robust risk assessment skills to provide high-quality care to children, young people, and their families.
• Demonstrate expertise and experience in CAMHS, with a focus on care planning and treatment delivery.
• Supervise and support other staff, including Band 6 and 7 professionals, contributing to their development through regular supervision sessions.
• Conduct routine and urgent assessments on a weekly basis, with the ability to manage crisis follow-up work and take a lead on the processes for escalation and tier 4 admissions.
• Provide treatment for more complex and high-risk cases, offering your expertise to allocated cases.
• Lead and chair weekly Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, and attend Senior MDT meetings to contribute to strategic planning.
• Carry out duty work, including urgent risk assessments, to ensure a responsive and effective service.
• Conduct audits on care plans and risk assessments to maintain high standards of service delivery.
• Contribute to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of the team by actively participating in and delivering training sessions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, NMC).
• Substantial experience working in CAMHS.
• Proven experience in assessment, formulation, and risk assessment.
• Experience in care planning and treatment delivery for children, young people, and their families.
• Previous experience in supervising and supporting other staff.
