Director, Global Mobility UK/Europe (HYBRID)

As Global Mobility Director you will be accountable for providing strategic leadership and direction for Global Mobility function within the organisation, aligned to Talent Management
What will you be doing?
- Defining and executing a global mobility strategy that is closely aligned to the overarching strategic goals of S+N - This includes understanding the market dynamics, expansion plans, and revenue targets of S+N, and tailoring mobility programs to support these objectives. i.e. if the business is focused on global market penetration, mobility programs might facilitate the movement of sales and marketing talent to key markets.
- Creating an integrated global mobility strategy that is seen as a talent development tool – This supports the identification of global talent pools and global movement of talent either physically or across functions / franchises to nurture and develop skills and experiences of employees, both personal growth and to meet the needs of the business. Elevating Global Mobility to be considered and included at the front end of decision making when selecting and moving talent.
- Embedding I,D&E and sustainability into the global mobility strategy - This involves ensuring that international assignments are accessible to a diverse range of employees, promoting cultural awareness and sensitivity, and addressing the unique needs of underrepresented groups. In the context of sustainability, this means considering the environmental and social impact of S+N’s mobility programs. This could involve strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of international travel, supporting local communities in host locations, and promoting ethical and sustainable business practices.
- Continuous improvement, design and management of Global Mobility operating model, policy development, design, benchmarking and external peer networking. Including all types of assignments, permanent transfers/local hire and global/local plus scenarios, business traveller tracking and HMRC reporting to support Senior Accounting Officer duties. Supporting local international hire decisions around package alignment/net to net comparisons and gap analysis.
- Providing Strategic and Compliance advice on all areas of Mobility. Solving complex issues and help business to remain compliant.
- Manage central Global Mobility budget of circa USD3.5M
- Leading and managing teams responsible for all programs including internal HRS dedicated support and external teams.
- Manage Global and local Vendor contracts, ongoing relationships, performance and service delivery.
- Responsibility for US and UK Domestic Relocation, program, policies, operating model, supporting TA with new external and internal recruitment mobility.
- Responsibility for US immigration local migrant worker hire and retention. US immigration operating model in line with US Regulations and Department of Labour laws. L1A/B, Green Cards, and H1B Lottery processes etc. Maintaining process for Request for Evidence from US authorities. Supporting the TA community with new external recruitment right to work.
- UK Home Office sponsorship license - budget responsibility and vested interest in maintaining status.
- Responsible for assessing and authorising temporary international remote working requests and advising on permanent change in location requests under Workplace Unlimited.
- Maintain central Service hub with Knowledge Articles on all areas of responsibility.
- Lead, coach and train Mobility HRS and GBS employees who support all programs
What will you need to be successful?
- Education to Degree level (Preferred)
- Global Mobility Foundation and Advanced Management Certifications, GMS, GMS-T (Desirable)
- Accomplished global mobility lead with extensive experience in global mobility/expatriate management, including proven thought partnership, collaboration, and influencing skills to establish/maintain excellent working relationships with senior business partners and leaders, including multiple cross functional stakeholders (Finance/Corporate Tax/International Payroll/Legal/Company Secretariat).
- Expert on issues related to International: Tax, Immigration, Social Security, PE exposure, EU Workers Directive, and all Relocation issues . Able to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict, and inspire change with a variety of partners at all levels. Proactive and creative thinker who can provide strategic thought leadership and prioritization, think analytically, and solve complex issues and challenges in a way that balances the needs of the business and employees while maintaining compliance.
