This role requires a strong foundation in both traditional systems engineering practices and Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies as well as a broad understanding of general engineering practices. You will be responsible for capturing, analysing, and managing system requirements while leveraging MBSE techniques to create and maintain detailed system models.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Elicitation and Analysis:
- Supporting requirement engineering activities as directed to meet programme priorities (cost, schedule, performance).
- Attending requirement working groups for projects as required and taking minutes where directed. Attendance can include recording additions and changes to live requirement and model-based systems engineering databases to maintain configuration.
- Analyse and prioritise requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, and feasibility.
- Working with other technical disciplines (designer engineers and architects), in support of project delivery to capture, understand, and document programme requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers as required.
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):
- Carrying out systems engineering modelling activities, as directed to meet project priorities (cost, schedule, performance).
- Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools and methodologies.
- Create and manage system models to represent various aspects of the system, including structure, behaviour, and requirements traceability.
- Utilise MBSE principles to enhance system design, analysis, and verification processes.
- Developing and managing model-based systems engineering databases, including linkage to requirements and external evidence/document as required.
Requirements Management:
- Support the development and management a requirements management system / database to track changes and ensure the integrity and provenance of the requirements throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Potentially maintain traceability of system requirements to design elements and components. (Procurement strategy dependent).
- Provide metrics and progress information to support the wider monitoring and reporting of systems engineering progress as directed. This will include reporting of issues and impediments.
- Support to resolving conflicting requirements and ensure alignment with overall system objectives.
