Job description


We are excited to be recruiting for a full time qualified Counsellor to work in our supportive team here at Chorley and South Ribble. You will join our Talking Therapies team offering one to one, telephone and online therapy. We are open to flexible and hybrid working requests.

The successful candidate will be joining a fantastic team of PWPs, Counsellors and CBT therapists who work collaboratively to deliver the best service and outcomes for clients. Health and wellbeing of staff along with investing in our team is important to us. You will receive regular supervision and will also have the opportunity to attend suitable training events to support your professional development.

The role is being offered at either a Band 6 or Band 7. The different bands are awarded dependent on qualifications and matching to the essentials criteria of the job description and personal specification for each band.

For band 6, In additional to core training as a counsellor, you must have an HEE Talking Therapies approved training qualification such as PCE-CfD, CCfD. For those qualified Counsellors who have not yet gained BACP Accreditation we will support completion of this within your first 12 months in post.

For Band 7 as well as the requirements above, you must hold full Accreditation and have a supervision qualification.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
