JOB TITLE: Housing Grants Officer
LOCATION: Horncastle
SALARY: £27,803 - £32,076 per annum
Do you want to help deliver safe accessible homes to support and protect vulnerable people?
We are recruiting for a Housing Grants Officer to join our team here at East Lindsey District Council!
As the Housing Grants Officer, you will work with homeowners, housing association tenants, private tenants and licensees who are seeking a Disabled Facilities Grant or who require a Discretionary Housing Assistance Grant. Working with the Senior Housing Grants Officer and the Service Manager you will engage with clients, Occupational Therapists, contractors, and other parties to deliver appropriate adaptations to people’s homes.
Typical duties will be:
To manage Disabled Facilities Grant and Discretionary Housing Assistance Grants and loans in line with relevant policy, guidance, and legislation
To provide members of the public with general advice about the options that are available to them to maintain independence in their home, in line with Council policies.
To provide assistance to applicants as appropriate including: Undertaking Home visits and liaise with the landlord to obtain permission to carry out works where applicable.
What we need from you:
Experience of working with older people and/or people with disabilities along with a genuine commitment to work to consistently high standards and always provide a quality service.
Highly organised individual with a strong customer focus.
Excellent communication skills to communicate with a wide and varied customer base as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Current valid driving licence
Experience in the use of CAD is desirable, but not essential.
