Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to provide support to a young lady who has a visual impairment and is a guide dog user.
This lady does not require any personal care and has an independent and outgoing personality. We are looking for someone who is respectful of this lady’s independence and accepting of the nature of this role which is specifically relating to visual impairment.
The support will largely include accessing the local community for activities of interest (such as shopping, theatre, ‘the arts’, exploring the local area, dog walks and attending the gym/yoga etc). It will also include an element of domestic support within the home environment. Ideally the successful candidate will be sociable and have an interest in fashion, fitness, outdoor pursuits.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential, however, the person MUST be comfortable and at ease around dogs. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A driver with a full clean license is needed as some transport support will be required.
This is a part time position for up to 10 hours per week with an hourly rate of £12.30. Mileage is not paid but this is reflected in the hourly rate.
5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme are provided.
