Job description
What you will do in your working day
Your duties will include:
- The Programming, Setting, and Operating of CNC Milling and CNC Lathes.
- Setting, and Operating of Manual Milling and Manual Lathes In Addition to the above, you will cover other engineering practices/processes outside of the college curriculum.
- The Programming, Setting, and Operating of EDM Wire Cutting Machines
- The programming, setting, and operating of CNC CMM inspection machines.
- Learn the Ability to read, interpret and understand complex engineering drawings.
- To learn how to draw CAD models from drawings using HYPERCAD-S To learn how to Program CNC Machines using HYPERMILL
- To learn how to understand and control the use of quality and traceability documents.
- The ability to use a variety of finishing operations equipment up to and including Shotblasting, part marking machines and a variety of hand tools.
The training you will be getting
EAL L3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge). Apprentices will attend college for two days per week over two years.
This may be revised in Year 2. Training, assessments and observations will also be completed in the workplace.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Possible permanent position upon completion of apprenticeship.
