Homebased with travel for team meetings (London – Once per month) and to meet clients/stakeholders.
Salary: �40,220 - �44,428 Per annum
Job Type: Full time 37 Hours per week. Fixed Term Contract to 31st March 2025 – extension subject to future funding

What is the role?
To assist the Energy Projects Manager in effectively delivering the public sector decarbonisation programme by managing the development of a range of low carbon energy projects for the public sector. The post holder will be required to formulate and deliver robust business cases on local energy/net zero/public sector estate projects.
You will support Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), local authorities, private and third sector organisations, industry bodies in the development of their decarbonisation plans.
In conjunction with the Energy Project Managers, you will provide client-focussed support to develop, scale-up and replicate local energy, net zero and decarbonisation projects within your area of responsibility.
The role will include:
- Carry out energy project assessments and manage the development of specific low carbon projects including site surveys and the development of robust project business cases;
- Develop a robust pipeline Work with the Programme Manager to identify and prioritise delivery support required;
- Manage energy projects through to completion and ensure the appropriate funding requirements are met;
- Support the Energy Project Managers in the design and drafting of the specification of improvements to building energy infrastructure and supervise the installation of work on site;
- Produce project performance reports and data summaries on a regular basis;
Gather and evaluate data and prepare a range of energy use and performance reports for building users;
- Assist in the preparation of Tender Specifications and tender processes associated with new energy projects and programmes;
- Contribute to and provide as necessary project and programme reports to Department of Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ);
What will you need?
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in a related discipline ideally within the energy sector.
- Knowledge and commitment to the maintaining knowledge on the development, use and application of new technology.
- Experience assessing feasibility and developing business cases for investment.
- Knowledge of the Net Zero and energy policy landscape.
Desirable
- A good understanding of legislation surrounding the energy sector.
- Experience of working with a range of public sector functions including finance, property, maintenance, sustainability/climate change
