Job description
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our security team in Glasgow. You will be leading a dynamic team of SIA Door Supervisors and Stewards at the O2 Academy Glasgow, in addition to supervising large-scale events in the summer. We are looking for dependable, professional candidates who can demonstrate sound judgement and integrity in high pressure environments. The ideal candidate should have proven experience of working as a Supervisor, Team Leader or similar leadership role.
Our casual contract offers you great flexibility to choose when you would like to work, although due to the nature of the events industry, please be aware that most shifts will be during evenings and weekends.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure the high-quality delivery of operations
- Adhere to and enforce venue policies and procedures, understand and apply relevant law and legislation to the role
- Motivate and develop the casual workforce in line with company objectives
- Understand and execute duties commensurate with licensable activities and venue licence requirements
- Completion of all administrative tasks, including report writing, in a timely manner
- Management and auditing of company assets including but not limited to uniform, radios and stationery
- Understand and promote Showsec vision, values and mission statement, including company initiatives
- Understand and complete responsibilities commensurate of a Supervisor role
As such, we expect applicants to hold at least 2 years’ experience working in the security industry, with 1 year working in a leadership role.

What Showsec can offer you
- A minimum hourly rate of £13.76 per hour (comprising a pay rate of £12.28 and indicative holiday pay of £1.48) and a maximum hourly rate of £16.08 per hour (comprising a pay rate of £14.35 and indicative holiday pay of £1.73). Holiday pay is indicative because it is accrued at 12.07% for every hour worked in accordance with your average pay rate over the previous 52 worked weeks. If you work at a different rate the pay and holiday pay will change accordingly

What we need from you
- We need you to have a valid in-date SIA Door Supervisor licence
- At least 2 years experience working in the security industry
- At least 1 year of experience working in a supervisor/leadership role
- PAY: £13.76 - £16.08 per hour (inclusive of indicative holiday pay)
