Job description
We are looking for an experienced HRBP to support Supply Chain Function in the UK&I. This role is based at our Bradford Site and is a fully onsite role, with responsibility for the site and supporting another HRBP with the wider supply chain network around the UK.
We are currently engaged in the early stages of a merger, so there are interesting challenges awaiting the person taking this role. Of course you will not be alone, as you will be joining a team of eight HR colleagues, and reporting to the HR Director for UK & Ireland.
Purpose of the job
You would be responsible for delivering a customer driven and comprehensive People service, aligning both people and commercial business strategies, and translation of business strategy into HR actions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the strategic direction of the People function by undertaking appropriate diagnostic work.
Facilitate effective implementation of new People initiatives in designated areas as appropriate
Ensure the alignment of people strategies with existing company policies and procedures, and update as required
Ensure any strategic changes / implementation of a people cycle is cascaded to all areas of the business and the relevant training is received on new ways of working
Meeting the Business Need
Build successful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Develop strong networks across the UK/Ireland and Global/European stakeholders.
Build working relationships with Unions to facilitate a collaborative working practice.
Undertake specific project work as required (e.g. Change Projects).
Supporting Line Managers
Stay ahead of all legal matters relating to internal and external reporting compliance.
Ensure by direction that teams work in the most effective way.
Resourcing
Provide recruitment advice to all departments as required.
Ensure agreed recruitment processes are followed.
Liaise closely with Talent Acquisition team on all recruitment matters.
Personally support the successful appointment of senior vacancies.
Operational Advice & Support
Develop an appropriate SLA for individual departments on the level and standard of day-to-day support required.
Provide support to line managers during the full people cycle incl the annual performance review, PDP’s, training etc
ER Advice
Work closely with Line Managers on all ER issues that arise within your area and the wider business as required, ensuring all ER matters are managed appropriately, with correct application of HR policies
Support the promotion of a culture of performance, change orientation and improvement.
Where appropriate, challenge existing ways of working to ensure all staff align with the Company policy and norms.
Assist in the review of performance management processes and implement agreed action plans where required
People Metrics
Collate and report on all People metrics as required (eg absence, turnover, etc)
Own the people costs for your area ensuring budget compliance and report monthly on the metrics
Identify training needs
Liaise with managers and Business Partners to ensure effective training and development plans in place for individuals and teams
Monitor and co-ordinate the local People processes.
Review gaps in leadership capability with senior management and develop action plans accordingly
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
5+ years experience in HR roles, including as HRBP for a large operation/department.
Graduate or equivalent (desirable)
Educated to “A” level, HND or equivalent (essential).
Experience working in a manufacturing or FMCG, & Supply Chain environment, ideally supporting a global, corporate organization
Experience managing large reorganizations (desirable)
Experience managing a broad range of training and development.
Experience in coaching and mentoring individuals and management teams.
Knowledge of project management principles.
Able to travel to the other sites on a regular basis with the possibility of overnight stays.
