What You'll Do: 
As the HSE&S Manager at the site, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, leading the HSE&S activities to assure that the operations remain in compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies and standards and RCMS requirements. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to Move Cleaner, Create Smarter and Live Better. Being member of the management team, your work will directly drive the implementation of risk management initiatives, liaising with legislators to provide clear direction to site management on the impact of current and potential legislative impacts on the facility’s operations and provide clear and unambiguous direction on legislative challenges. As a valued member of the UK HSE team, building effective relationships that lead to sharing of best practice and a UK approach to protection of assets and people is imperative for success in this role. 


What We're Looking For:
• Have a thorough understanding of current and future legislative needs, real risks to employees and assets, corporate HSE programs and goals; lead the development, implementation and management of risk management strategies and plans for the site. 
• Keep site management team abreast of changing regulations that will affect the site.
• Manage the HSE system to ensure HSE risk control in capital and project activities, appropriate for the risks associated with the site.
• Manage the various safety management systems (EMS, SMS and PSM) and ensure continual improvement. 
• Lead communication to employees on policies and procedures ensuring high level of understanding and engagement.
• Manage the site HSES audit programme.
• Be the key site contact with legislators for all HSE matters, ensuring they understand our business and our control measures.
• Develop strong relationships based on mutual trust with other Lubrizol HSE colleagues and ensure implementation of all corporate HSE programmes in a manner appropriate to the site.

Skills That Make a Difference:
• Graduate or post-graduate in science or engineering with additional recognised HSE qualifications such as NEBOSH diploma. 
• Extensive experience in the oil or chemical industries
• Experience of Process Hazard Analysis/ HAZOP studies and process safety systems
• Leading site management teams in design and implementation of safety programmes focused on key risks.
• Experience of design, implementation and auditing of robust and effective management systems, e.g. ISO 14001 and 45001.
• Excellent communications skills and someone who enjoys working in a cross-matrix environment where they interact with a range of internal and external contacts.
• Able to manage multiple initiatives/ projects and communicate goals, objectives, and accomplishments to a broad audience.
• Strong drive and commitment to professional development.
