Job description
RMS are proud to be representing a leading manufacturing client based in Newton Aycliffe. We are current recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Technician.
Your role will be to assist and support the Manufacturing Engineers in the introduction of new production facilities and associated equipment.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday on Day Shift and the salary being offered is up to £40,483.63 per annum (depending on experience).
Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Providing input to concept designs of equipment to manufacture Robotic Lawnmowers.
- Creating and maintaining process routings using time and motion studies.
- Continuous improvements of all production equipment resulting in increased efficiency and improved overall equipment effectivities.
- APQP Documentation including process flows, FMEA and SOP’s.
- Estimation of the product manufacture process, including costs and timings.
- Ensure all equipment is UKCA marked with all the necessary documentation, and manufacturing and maintenance have all necessary training and information.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Line balancing and layout design.
- Improving safety and ergonomics.
- Liaison with Automation Engineers to support the induction of equipment.
- Working with R&D and the New Product Introduction Team to ensure the new product industrialisation process is supported by engineering in terms of product costing and product build plans.
- Support the product ‘Design for Manufacture’ and ‘Design for Automation’ processes.
- Lean Manufacturing principles.
Additional Skills/Qualifications Required
- Good communicator, both verbal and written.
- Utilisation of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in fast-paced manufacturing/engineering background.
- Experience in Project Management
- Solidworks/Inventor experience
- Experience with Manufacturing Equipment, Jigs, Fixtures and tools.
- A sound knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint & Word.
- Good time management & planning skills
- Understanding of ergonomics and manual handling
- Able to work collaboratively.
- Able to demonstrate a “What Can I Do” attitude.
- Prepare to travel (if required)
