Job Title : Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Type : Permanent
Location : Bury St Edmunds

Salary : £50,000-£65,000 Plus package

We currently have a number fantastic opportunities within the residential market working alongside some of the top award-winning house builders who are looking for an experienced Senior / Quantity Surveyor’s to run large multiphase developments throughout East Anglia. Ideally looking for a candidate with a strong Residential knowledge background.
Duties & Responsibilities of a Quantity surveyor:
• Running a large multiphase developments
• Timely Procurement and management of sub-contract packages and consultant appointments in conjunction with technical project lead
• Management of client and 3rd party contracts, valuations and variations
• Maximize margin through value engineering, implementing robust commercial strategies and proactive management of subcontractor accounts
• Optimize cash flow through external valuations and control of subcontractor accounts.
• Ensure correct contractual procedures are operated for both Main Contracts and Subcontracts.
• Monitor that subcontract conditions are ‘Back-to-Back’ with main contract conditions
• Claims preparation and recovery
• Provide monthly Cost Value Reports and monthly Margin Analysis
• Forecast Out-turn Margin/Commercial Analysis / program / progress in conjunction with Line Management and review monthly
Desirable Experience & Qualification of a Quantity surveyor:
• Experience working for a Main Contractor and leading your own projects.
• Shown longevity in their career.
• University degree.
Skills of a Quantity surveyor:
• Degree qualified
• A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills
• The ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
• The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
• Negotiation and team work skills
• The ability to motivate and lead those on site
• A detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
