Deputy Hotel General Manager — REF: ADV/11599/2022/1

As  Deputy Hotel General Manager,  you will be expected to hit the ground running. Using your current levels of experience, transferable skills, knowledge, and background in hotel management.

We are looking to build on your current understanding of the following:

• Rezlynx booking system.
• Allocation of payments to hotel departments.
• Working with on-line booking agents.
• Managing bookings and guest requirements.
• Managing staff, training, hiring, development.
• Organising and setting room rates for marketing purposes.
• Involved in multiple conference, banquet, and private events.
• Liaising with all hotel departments.
• Using your reception and customer service experience to handle enquiries and customer service requirements. 

The hotel has roughly 50 hotel rooms and have a decent occupancy level through their off-peak and on-peak seasons.

They also offer multiple function rooms to facilitate their established events portfolio and core clients that like to re-use the venue.

The restaurant, functions, and dinning capacity for the hotel totals almost 200 covers, and they are serving food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

As an established hotel venue, they are well known within the local area and ideally, they are looking for someone who wants to come into the business, learn its processes, and take over the rains from the General Manager in a succession planning manner.

As an independent non-branded venue there will be some challenges and differences those larger branded group hotels, as you will need to be flexible and emotionally robust to be able to handle all aspects of the hotel. As you will be looked at as the person to take over from the current incumbent when they retire.

Requirements

The Deputy Hotel General Manager will need to have the following:

• You must be eligible to work in the UK and have a valid UK passport.
• You must live in Hampshire or be relocating to Hampshire and have your own accommodation (there is no live-in available).
• Public transport links are available but not reliable, (having your own car is a massive positive).
• You must be able to attend face-to-face interviews at the venue.
• You must have some hotel operations, food and beverage experience, in a similar role.
• You must have supervised or managed a team of hotel departments or staff of 10-30 people.
• You must have experience using a booking system like Rezlynx or similar.
• You must have experience allocating payments to the correct hotel departments when guests have paid their bill.
• You must have hotel bookings, customer service and reception experience.
• You must have exposure collaborating with on-line booking agents.
• You must know about setting room rates and marketing your hotel rooms.
• You must have experience as a liaison between hotel departments especially when it comes to banquets, events, conferences etc.
