Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate evidence-based diagnoses for individuals within forensic settings.

2. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement effective therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of forensic service users, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach.

3. Risk Assessment: Undertake robust risk assessments, providing expert analysis and recommendations to support risk management strategies for service users.

4. Report Writing: Produce clear and concise psychological reports, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with professional and legal standards.

5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and other allied health professionals, to ensure holistic and cohesive care for service users.

6. Supervision and Training: Provide clinical supervision to junior staff and contribute to the training and development of colleagues within the forensic psychology team.

7. Research and Evaluation: Engage in ongoing research and contribute to the evaluation of forensic mental health services, implementing improvements based on findings.

8. Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in forensic psychology, attending relevant training and conferences to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

1. Doctoral-level qualification in Forensic Psychology.
2. HCPC registration as a Forensic Psychologist.
3. Significant experience working at Band 8a/8b level in a forensic mental health setting.
4. Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments and formulating risk management plans.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with service users and colleagues.
6. Commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
