Advice and Information Manager
Home-based (travel to the Greater London area up to four times a year, for in-person team meetings)
The Organisation
our client provides information, support and guidance to those living with hypermobility spectrum disorders and a group of connective tissue disorders which affect most of the body and can be extremely challenging to live with.
They work closely with healthcare professionals to increase the understanding of these disorders in the UK, reduce the time to diagnosis and improve knowledge of these conditions through research.
Our client has a well-established programme of peer-to-peer support running in their community across the UK. They also have an adviceline and an extensive array of information across a number of different channels and formats.
Our client is currently looking for an Advice and Information Manager to join them on a permanent, part-time basis, working 28 hours per week over five days.
The Benefits
- Salary of up to £32,000 per annum (pro rata)
- 31 days’ annual leave (pro rata) including bank holidays and Christmas office closure, increasing with service

The Role
As an Advice and Information Manager, you will provide a broad range of high-quality support and information to people living with hypermobility spectrum disorders and connective tissue disorders through a variety of communication channels.
Communicating via phone, email, webinars, articles and leaflets, you will provide advice, information and signposting services to those affected, their families, carers and healthcare professionals.
You will source, produce and share information on all aspects of hypermobility spectrum disorders and connective tissue disorders, lead the development of advice and information services and monitor our client’s call and enquiry patterns.
Additionally, you will:
- Act as deputy safeguarding lead
- Work with the team to answer questions from our client’s social media channels
- Develop contacts and build relationships with relevant healthcare professionals and professional bodies
- Keep up to date with changes in the health, social care and benefits systems
- Develop your own expertise on hypermobility spectrum disorders and connective tissue disorders
- Promote our client’s services through attendance at conferences and events
About You
To be considered as an Advice and Information Manager, you will need:
- Professional experience of providing support to others
- Experience of handling safeguarding concerns
- Experience in delivering and monitoring a service
- Experience of using a range of communication tools, including social media and zoom
- Working knowledge or lived experience of chronic illness or disabilities
The closing date for applications is the 21st March 2024.
First interviews will be held on the 27th and 28th March.
Second interviews will be held on the 3rd April.
