Job description
Job Details:
- Monitor the daily workload of the transport department and ensure work is processed accurately and within the deadlines agreed.
- Be the main point of contact for the Transport Department/fleet.
- Investigate accidents and disciplinary concerns, make suitable recommendations, and take appropriate action.
- Maintaining timely servicing and MOTs on all vehicles/Plant
- Organising inspections in a timely manner for lorries
- Crusher hire management
- Issuing/registering T5/T7 Waste Exemptions with the local authorities/government
- Ordering of Fuel and arranging deliveries of plant and equipment to sites. This is to include monitoring all UDCS-owned fuel tanks, their condition, and locations.
- General management and liaison with waste transfer sites.
- Organising transport to and from the site liaising with Site Supervisors/Managers for when they need plant and equipment.
- Arrange plant hire/off-hire when in demand from site supervisors/Managers.
- Keep up to date with all relevant transport and driver-related legislation and implement any changes as and when required.
- Ensure the fleet of vehicles are maintained in line with applicable standards and legislation.
- Management of all permits and licenses
- Upkeep of daily diary for crusher, lorries, vehicles and materials.
